WEMBLEY RACE SQUAD
Wembley Sailing Club is taking a new approach to our youth race squads, combining youth flights for a commmunity focused on fun and friendly competition.
Race SquadWembley race squad provides weekly race training for junior members of the club.
The goal of this squad is to build a community of talented young sailors who are happiest on the water. The squad will be delivered by a team of qualified Race Coaches running a range of sessions to build skills and confidence on the race course. Progress towards RYA Start & Club Racing qualifications will be signed off throughout. |
Advanced Squad
Advanced squad is an extension of race squad built for skilled racers, to create a highly competitive squad and enable talented sailors to advance.
Advanced Race Squad will work on becoming competetive on the race course through sessions focusing on fleet strategy, racing performance flights, boat handling, and strengthening rules knowledge through team racing. Sessions will be delivered by a qualified Race Coach Level 2 with experience in ILCA and RS200 classes. Sessions will be run in a range of racing boats and rig sizes as appropriate to the session and conditions. Skilled smaller sailors will be able to advance up from Race Squad using smaller boat classes.
